Martin Krupa

I recently graduated from the University of California, San Diego where I was a bioinformatics major in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Throughout college, I worked in Senyon Choe's Structural Biology Lab at The Salk Institute on E. coli membrane protein purification and crystallization.

I am currently working at the joint Center for Biosciences at Gachon Medical School in Incheon, South Korea on establishing a high-throughput human membrane protein expression screen in E. coli. Additionally, I am studying the effects of TGF-Beta reagents on human embryoninc stem cells by analyzing treated cells membrane protein composition using mass spectrometry.

Over the 2007 summer I worked in Samson Chow's lab at UCLA's Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology on pseudotyping a new retrovirus named XMRV to study its effects on human prostate cancer tumorigenesis. Details on the UCLA Amgen Scholars website.

In September 2009, I will begin medical school at the UCSD School of Medicine.
